چکیده

For two positive integers r and s with r ≥ 2s− 2, if G is a graph of order 3r+4s such that d(x)+d(y) ≥ 4r+4s for every xy 6∈ E(G), then G independently contains r triangles and s quadrilaterals, which partially prove the El-Zahar’s Conjecture.

Some finite groups with divisibility graph containing no triangles

Let $G$ be a finite group. The graph $D(G)$ is a divisibility graph of $G$. Its vertex set is the non-central conjugacy class sizes of $G$ and there is an edge between vertices $a$ and $b$ if and only if $a|b$ or $b|a$. In this paper, we investigate the structure of the divisibility graph $D(G)$ for a non-solvable group with $sigma^{ast}(G)=2$, a finite simple group $G$ that satisfies the one-p...

A mixed triangular and quadrilateral partition for fractal image coding

This paper presents a new partitioning scheme for fractal image coding, based on triangles and quadrilaterals. The aim is to have the advantage of the triangles over the square and rectangular blocks, in terms of adaptivity to the image (reduction of the block eeect), and to reduce the blocks number by grouping neighboring triangles into quadrilat-erals. Quadrilaterals permit a reduction of the...

On Tensor Product of Graphs, Girth and Triangles

The purpose of this paper is to obtain a necessary and sufficient condition for the tensor product of two or more graphs to be connected, bipartite or eulerian. Also, we present a characterization of the duplicate graph $G 1 K_2$ to be unicyclic. Finally, the girth and the formula for computing the number of triangles in the tensor product of graphs are worked out.

Acute Triangulations of Doubly Covered Convex Quadrilaterals

Motivated by various applications triangulations of surfaces using only acute triangles have been recently studied. Triangles and quadrilaterals can be triangulated with at most 7, respectively 10, acute triangles. Doubly covered triangles can be triangulated with at most 12 acute triangles. In this paper we investigate the acute triangulations of doubly covered convex quadrilaterals, and show ...

P1-Nonconforming Finite Elements on Triangulations into Triangles and Quadrilaterals

The P1-nonconforming finite element is introduced for arbitrary triangulations into quadrilaterals and triangles of multiple connected Lipschitz domains. An explicit a priori analysis for the combination of the Park–Sheen and the Crouzeix–Raviart nonconforming finite element methods is given for second-order elliptic PDEs with inhomogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions.
